Encounters – Art Basel Hong Kong 2014

Great to know almost 2 months ago (few days after I came back from Dublin for the Castletown House residence), I am selected as one of the 17 projects to be presented at Encounters section at Art Basel Hong Kong 2014 during 15 – 18th May. I am working on the project with Pearl Lam Galleries.

“Pearl Lam Galleries (Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore) will present The Remnant of My Volition (Force Majeure), 2014, by Hong Kong artist Morgan Wong (*1984). The new installation continues Wong’s interest in the practice of durational performance with research in materialization of time, and involves a seemingly white wall which the artist had peeled off over fifty-thousand stickers on it. Not wanting to stage a venue for reactionary measures, this new installation provides a space for contemplation and explores the irrepressibility of time under the state of one country two systems in Hong Kong.”
